My wife and I were visiting Walla Walla for our first anniversary and came here for dinner. So glad we did! We showed up an hour early for our reservation and they were incredibly kind and accommodating (keep in mind this was a Saturday night at 6).
I wish I could remember our server's name because she was fantastic. Totally clear that she was knowledgeable about every single dish and had great suggestions. I ordered the pork collar and my wife ordered the chicken dish. Both were delicious! My pork had a unique smoky flavor along with yummy potatoes. My wife loved her chicken! The grits that it came with really set it off!
At the end of the day we had fantastic food and outstanding service. Check em out. -

HOMERUN!! There's not one thing I would change.
Like most downtown buildings in Walla Walla everything inside is beautiful. The attention to detail was planned well and with love.
Greeted by a friendly hostess and then quickly greeted by our server. Cannot say enough about her personality and attentiveness.
I had the mussels that were plentiful and tasty that also had sausage in it. Husband had the fried chicken and he had nothing but good to say about the plate; From the house made pickles to the habanero grits. Children shared the risotto that had smoked tomatoes in it. Everything was so good that it was hard for us to decide who had the best plate.
Plates median cost is about $25 a plate but worth every penny. Table next to us had a dessert box that looked so good.
The check came in an old antique cook book. Again attention to detail! This is how a restaurant should make you feel! Cannot wait to go back.

First visit on 8/18/2019... overall good but didn't start that way. I ordered the duck on rice... as a guy who likes has beef pretty rare, I was surprised that the duck arrived essentially raw in the center, but crispy on the outside. I never send anything back ... but I just couldn't eat this ... They quickly replaced it and it was delicious. ((They removed the item from my bill... But I added it back in -- fair is fair))
I work in the wine industry so I always like to see what's available and what it costs especially for glass pours... Hattaways is my new high water mark in the cost for a glass pour: their premium wines are charged by the ounce... so a 5 ounce pour of a premium WWV red will set you back $50. Ouch. -

After a long day of wine tasting, we came here for a nice dinner. It's got a nice vibe and is certainly a place to celebrate an anniversary, date night or special occasion. Our server, Zora, was excellent! She had wonderful suggestions for us and I'm so glad she suggested the celery parmesan salad, it was fantastic tasting and so different than the usual lettuce salad. We were treated to a free "snack" from the kitchen which was delicious and I think is an an excellent touch from the management/kitchen. (Sadly, I didn't write my review right away and I can't remember exactly what we were served, only that we all enjoyed it!)
For dinner, hubby had the duck breast and I had the seared scallops. Both dishes were recommended by Zora and both dishes lived up to her comments. -

Hattaway's is an outstanding addition to the Walla Walla food scene... I was excited to try during recent visit and did not disappoint!
We had 6 of us, so lots of opportunity to share bites. Starting with the apps: Get the Hush Puppies and don't look back... they were the highlight! The BBQ chips were also delicious, but more of a "one bite" appetizer for each person. Between the 6 of us, we tried a variety of cocktails - all outstanding. Cherry Bourbon Spice, Who Controls the Spice, and Modern Love were big hits! Interesting twists with flavors.
For entrees, the plan was to share bites, but everyone hovered over their plates the moment we dug in... no sharing allowed, since that meant giving up a bite of the greatness on the plate in front of us. I had the pan seared halibut cheeks - tender, flavorful, grits and sauce were divine. Two of our friends had the chicken and grits... all he would lend me was a bite of grits (spicy)! My wife ordered the Grilled Pork Collar and loved every bite.
We ate 3 spectacular dinners in WW over the long weekend, and Hattaway's was the winner.
